I have just bought a Base 68cm colour tv. I turned it on and it has eeprom error on the screen.?
Answer:
It just means the microprocessor (controller IC) is not "seeing" any data from the memory IC (eeprom). Take it back and get one that is not defective. If you bought it from eBay, or any other mail order house, you've just learned a very important lesson.
EEPROM = Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. The EEPROM error is telling you that somehow the operating instructions for the TV have been corrupted, and the microprocessor cannot read the memory. Take the set in for service. A new EEPROM IC and microprocessor will probably be required, if the memory cannot be reprogrammed by the service facility. Some sets provide a port where the service facility can use the interface to reload the TV memory program from a PC at the workbench. I have such programs, but not for the brand you state.
