Can you really tell a difference between 800:1 and 1000:1? If so, how much?
Answers: Some family can, and some can't. In either casing, probably only within a darkened room.
250 is the minimum difference that most people can detail the difference. Will it be drastic? No. But, there will be a subtle difference if you look at two TVs side by side.
