What is expected by 'HD READY' on a TV?

My tv says that it is 'HD ready', but I notice that some other tvs had 'Full HD' written. If mine is 'HD ready', is it still HD? Why did they put 'ready'?

Answers:    Please dont listen to the two previous answers below because they are wrong. HD in position means that IF you enjoy an external box to convert normal analog signals into digital ones your tv will display an HD picture. If you do not enjoy this box your tv will display pictures in standard defintion. If you bought a 1080P tv it probably have a built in tuner which does not require a box to convert the signal. Full HD merely means that the picture is displayed at 1080p instead of 720p and have nothing to do near the HD ready that you are discussion about
It manner "High-Definition", better quality picture. Take thinking and God Bless to You and Yours. 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam 67-70
