Can you have an HDMI cable and component cables connected to the Comcast box to the TV?
Answer:
OOPS! Sorry to inform you. there is no difference in picture quality between cheap HDMI cables and Monster. Digital is digital... i.e. it either gets from point A to point B perfectly, or it doesn't get there at all. HDMI is the best way to transfer high definition because it is pure digital... the way HD was meant to be. Component, on the other hand, is analog and limited in several ways.
If you are really into HD you should get DIRECTV because their HD transfers at 1080i while COMCAST transfers at 860i. HD picture quality on directv is awesome!! almost like 3D!
OK, HDMI and Component signals are EXACTLY the SAME.no improvement over either signal..and guess what...
HDMI gets converted DIRECTLY into Component signal the moment it gets inside the TV set !! One or two simple IC's is all it takes to convert it over.ASK ANY TECH !! I've seen the schematics on Many brands and it is a very direct conversion!
So, Component signal is what the TV uses to do everything it needs to inside the TV !
WOW!! All that hype you hear about HDMI or DVI and this is what every manufacturer does with it..
Sure makes you wanna kill someone for convincing you to buy HDMI CABLES..
Oh wait, what does a DIGITAL SIGNAL need with Gold or Monster quality?? It's not like an ANALOG signal being run 30 feet or more (that's where Monster cables BENEFIT the customer.on 30 foot runs or longer!!).
Personally I think the Comcast Gold is BETTER..you didn't have to pay $120.00 for it..
Digital signals are just Highs and Lows..No multifrequency characteristics like Analog has..
HDMI is as good as it gets using both will not enhance your signal or picture, 720p is better than 1080i and you got taken by whoever sold you that monster cable gold plating does not enhance signal as anyone who has taken 5th grade science can tell you that copper is a better conductor than gold, to the above answerer there is a difference your analog cables can recieve interference from running water, magnets, cell phones, wireless land lines, wireless internet and your microwave
