I have a Samsung TV still under a year old. Would like to know how to go about getting local service.?
Answer:
I would call 1-800-SAMSUNG first, since TV is under a year old there might be warranty repair. If not they should have list of repair tech in your area. Otherwise contact store where purchased for service.
Samsung is known for there poor support and high priced parts if any are available.
Is this a picture tube slim version? If so we were contacted by other companys in our area stating that those have been catching on fire. BEWARE.
The yoke on the tube have high amperage flowing through them to bend the magnetic field in the TV to get a straight picture.
Call samsung, keep names and times , call samsung again, call samsung again, call samsung again ----- get the message.
You can probably forget the store because you probably bought it at circuit city, wally world, sams, Costco, etc. My point is you bought from someone without service, so you are at the mercy of samsung, so call samsung again.
COSTCO? Even Samsung has NO warranty with them. They buy their sets WITHOUT warranty, then replace it if it fails in the first year (or whatever the factory warranty would have been). I have seen too many of these sets come in within the first year. I have to turn them away unless the customer is willing to pay for the repair. Sears does the same thing. Even Toshiba refuses technical support on these sets. Call Samsung, but know if you got the set from Costco or Sears, they will not honor ANY warranty. In that case, call the store and see what they will do. Sears provides their own service, Costco does not.
