With hdtv, is reverse projection worse than lcd?

whats the difference

Answers:    LCD is great for SMALLER TV sizes....But Projection has it's place within the LARGER sizes....

That's why we have BOTH.
If you are referring to the outdated Rear-Projection TV's (Not including newer DLP's) then they are of poorer quality an LCD. Although both will provide great pictures through HDTV, the LCD will more than likely enjoy a better contrast ratio to provide deeper, richer color, and the LCD's will also be sharper.

There technically are 2 types are LCD's...LCD flat panels and elder LCD projections, which are more rare. Both I still consider better than elder rear-projections.
