Recently bought 40 inch samsung HDTV it is 720p and i was wondering if its really fruitless to only own 720p. In the store i couldnt see a difference between 720p and 1080p in reality before looking at the tag i tought the 720p had clearer symbol . Will i get scrued over latter for having a 720p ? use mostly for sports but also video games(xbox 360) and HD DVD
Answers: The average individual cannot see the difference between a 720p screen and an 1080p blind at less than 50 inches (even at 50, it is pretty spotty). The solely drawback to buying a 720p is that "feeling" you get of not have the "highest" specs.
Honestly, as long as you like your TV and your picture competence, I am sure you are fine.
1080p is of course better contained by general...
However, everything I've read tend to suggest at 42" or smaller the difference is negligible, so I wouldn't verbs.
