HDTV blind size problems?

I posted this question once and nobody would answer and I have need of an answer fast so I posted it again.

I enjoy a 32 inch HDTV, but my (non-hd) satalite picture and DVDs (played on the xbox 360) Do not fill the adjectives screen within standard mode. When I change the mode to steep the whole eyeshade, it just stretches it out and looks chance. Is this just something to do near non-hd signals and playing movies on the 360? (the games look fine, by the way) and if I get an upconverting dvd player will it play them to fit the undamaged screen? or will it other do that? Should I get a different tv?

Answers:    Its a interrogate of aspect ratio for the program. First, aspect ratio is the ratio of the width to the altitude.

Normal (non HD) TV is broadcast in 4:3 (1.33:1) aspect ratio. HDTV programming is broadcast within 16:9 (1.78:1) aspect ratio ... the same as your HDTV. The result is that SDTV have bars down respectively side since the 1.33:1 picture isn't as wide as the 1.78:1 blind.

That's why when you stretch SDTV programs it to fill the HDTV peak it looks distorted.

But DVDs are often "widescreen" (which can swing from 1.78:1 to 2.35:1 (or more)) and will fill the HDTV screen's full span (although they may have bar at the top and bottom). Normally a DVD player -- since it can be used on either a 4:3 or 16:9 TV -- have a menu option to move the output aspect ratio (sometimes called format) to contest the TV. Probably you have not made this test yet on the XBox.

Finally, if you obtain an upconverting DVD player (which I wouldn't advise since it won't provide significant benefit on a 32" HDTV (which will upconvert 480 DVD resolution to fit the HD peak anyway), and even on a larger TV upconverting player that actually work okay are expensive (about $125 minimum ... cheap ones won't do a better job than the TV itself does)) it will hold a similar menu option for the TV eyeshade. Set it for 16:9.

Hope this helps.
Your 360 should stuff up the screen on your TV. Go into your 360 and transform your setting to 16:9 (and if that doesn't look good 4:3) and run contained by standard on your machine. That should fix your problem. I know my PS3 when I upgraded to a 16:9 HDTV it changed everything automatically for me.
