Disposing of t.v's?

i have this big, feeble t.v. & does anyone know a company like edison or something will come & pick it up & possibly bequeath money back?

i know that edison is inclined to come & pick up old refridgerators & give $50 back. but, i don;t know in the region of t.v's help? :D


Answers:    Old TV's are hazardous spend foolishly. Contact your local recyclying copmany and schedule a pick up. There are companies resembling Clean Harbors that do pick ups as well.
Old tv's, electronic equipment, battery.....all qualify for hazardous consume and should be disposed of with diligence.
I'm guessing you're talking something like Edison, the power company?

You can always ask them. Or, you can ask a TV repair shop; some shops will pocket an old TV sour your hands for you. Usually they'll any use it for parts, repair it and sell it hand-me-down, or dispose of it for you. At least, the shops I worked for did that.

EDIT: the post below mine also make an EXCELLENT point. A lot of these monitors and CRT's really do contain hazardous materials such as mercury and should be handed over to general public properly equipped to deal beside such things in an enviromentally nontoxic manner.
