Have our big screen projection TV 60" hooked up to DirecTV and the other night the screen went black, just a ban of about 4 inches top bottom and sides is visible, when you hit the volume key it goes away for about 5 seconds, then black screen returns again, thanks, oh bought a universal remote and can access menu's and stuff, any help would be great cant stand the little 19 inch anymore.

Have you tried unplugging the set, waiting a few minutes, plugging back in and retrying everything? Sometimes that works wonders.
