How do I reset/change framing on my Panasonic HDTV?

I have a wall mount HDTV, very well my parents do, and when i plug in the dvd player into the jack's on the front the framing is completely past its sell-by date, with a black slab on the right side, and the screen disappearing on the departed, tried other dvd players, same thing, so i know it's the tv.

Is in that a way to reset it? I don't know what the model number is since it's not my tv.

Thanks surrounded by advance.!

Answers:    What are these jacks on the front? Composite (yellow), S-Video? Do you use the correct output out of the DVD?

Looks similar to a sync problem, most common to PCs than DVD players.
Make sure the output picture setting of the player is set to 16:9.
(not 4:3).
