If you own a wide open blind tv and you play all-embracing peak dvd why are in attendance still bar at the top and bottom?

Answers:    If you're sure that you've chosen at your TV that source is wide 16:9, you hold to set it at your DVD player's settings too.
Select on it that your output TV is wide 16:9 and not 4:3 or letterbox.
Not adjectives films are in 16:9 ratio and as a concern of fact most of them are not. That is why you still own the bars. You can use your aspect ration to "stretch" it to permeate the screen but it will receive everything look short and squatty and you will not be watching the film as it be originally intended.
