I have a Sony LCD tv and aSony receiver along with FTA satellite and acable box h d want to attach cables?

40 lcd high def tv,have all cables HDMI and audio now what

Answer:
STEP 1. Attach the cable from your dish outside to " cable in from dish"
on the satellite HD receiver.
STEP 2. Connect one end of HDMI cable to your HD receiver, the other to HDMI in-put on TV.
STEP 3. Using audio cable( 2 male, red& white connectors on each end), connect one end to audio-out on HD receiver(satellite), the other end to audio-in on your Stereo-receiver.( Make sure if you use red on the left audio on the stereo receiver, it's on left audio on satellite receiver & the same for the white one )
This whole thing is on the assumption that you didn't say your stereo receiver was surround sound, so I went with a conventional stereo receiver. Hope I guessed right.
