Answers: First of adjectives...DO NOT GET A PLASMA, they do not last as long as lcd, they run hot, and they are subject to "burn in" if you depart from a game pause for long periods of time.
The difference between 720p and 1080i/p...is within terms of resolution. You can grasp away with 720p if the eyeshade is only 32 inches...because the dummy is more dense to begin near. If you look very closely at a 720p picture, you can see the pixels moderately easily... and a 1080i/p picture would own much smaller pixels. 1080p is the highest res available today, and here is a noticeable difference between 720 and 1080 next to the same eyeshade size. The difference in price can alter widely with the brand you resolve to get.

The contrast ratio is defined by the amount of contrast between black and white elements of a picture..the more contrast the sharper the picture in expressions of distinguishing color. If you compare two screens side by side...and they own different contrast ratios....you will spot the black areas of the screen are "black-er" on the one beside the highest contrast ratio...and the lower the ratio the more "grey" the black elements of an statue will look in comparison to the white elements.
Also be sure to procure the xbox360 HDMI cable for your new HDTV for the best picture possible.
i hear that the 1080i/p are better for gaming my friend have one for his 360 plus plasma is a risk i hear they burn out i have a lcd it's great but win the hd wires for better graphics for your 360 hope every thing go good
