Need a spanking new TV. Want one that's below 18" and relatively low price. Any counsel on what I should achieve?

Picture on my 2 year old 13" TV blew out closing night. I hold sound but no picture. I can still play VHS on it, but the picture is contained by black and white when I do, no color! Kind of funny. Anyway, I am looking to replace it with an 18" or lower than TV and would preferably like to buy one tonight. I only use the TV to watch the word in the morning and at darkness, and watch an occasional DVD, so I don't inevitability anything super great. I can't afford much anyway. Would like something that's not too wide because it has to sit resting on my dresser which is only 15" open.

What type/brand of TV should I get, and where on earth is the best place to purchase? I will go to any store except Wal-Mart. :)

Thank you for any direction!
