Answers:    OK. First, how are you getting your programming? Cable? Satellite? Over the upper air?

You need to own an HDTV signal. If through cable or satellite, do you subscribe to their HD service? Is the receiver box an HD box?

Secondly, assuming you do own HD service and appropriate hardware, how are connecting that to the TV? Which cables? Is it HDMI, DVI or Component cable (5 cables)? Those are the only cable that will support HD?
Read the INSTRUCTION BOOK from beginning to close to become "acquainted" with your TV set....

It'll be faster and better than "guessing" what is wrong here.....

Yep, my first SONY put money on in the 80's be soooo complicated, that I spent 6 HOURS guessing why I couldn't get a picture.....

THEN I spent ONE HOUR reading the setup division of the manual and it be FULLY Functional......

Sheesh, why didn't I do that in the FIRST PLACE ?!!

So, read your instruction manual.....Fix it right the first time....
