Are LCD TVs really better than my old-fashioned CRT tube model?

If so, I don't see it. The LCDs look dim, and if you are looking at them at an angle, they don't look so great. Am I missing something? They don't seem worth the money considering my big ol' Sony tube TV looks great still.

Answers:    The weak CRT models are just fine. The simply reason I am getting an LCD TV is due to the size. I want a 46 inch TV and the LCD ones cart up little space.
If your happy near your Sony TV then there's no principle to buy the LCD tv. It's that simple really.... ;)
