Help near my HDTV?
Answers: Okay, first bad, leave the DVD player you own hooked up now alone. It allows you to receive cable channel and appears to be working. If you want to get a unmarked DVD player then in recent times go to a retail store and give an account them you need one near a tuner in it. Its in actual fact a DVD recorder or DVD/VCR recorder you probably have as regular DVD players don't enjoy a coax cable hookup on them.
Next take the HDMI cable and insert it into the put a bet on of the HD DVD player, it can only dance in one slot, usually looks similar to a usb port. Hook the other wrap up of the HDMI cable into the back of the TV, again most HD prepared TVs only enjoy one or two HDMI ports in the stern of the set and are clearly labled.
So you now hold two DVD players hooked to your TV, one is giving you regular cable, the other is allowing you to play HD DVD's. In order to study HD DVD's, you will need to exchange inputs on your TV by using the remote. Usually there is a TV/Video button on your remote, by pressing that button repeatedly, you will switch between the assorted inputs. Not sure what brand TV you have so cant vote for certain as to what it will enunciate when you switch the inputs. It usually says something similar to "TV, hdmi 1, hdmi 2, video 1, video 2...etc...
The advantages in using HDMI is it give you video and audio in one cable and it also give you the best picture you can get. Hope this help.
You cannot run cable through a DVD player. You CAN run it through a DVD recorder or VCR/DVD combo. To actually get hold of HD, you need to attain a cable box from your local cable company. You do have a cable input on the backbone of the TV because it is the LAW that all TVs sold after finishing March have a cable input and an internal tuner.
