Why does my TV change channels on its own?

I have a Sharp Aquos LCD TV which has taken to changing from analogue to DTV to SKY to Teletext on its own every 5 minutes. The batteries have been removed from the remote controller but still the TV does its own thing. Anyone know why?

Answer:
Someone is trying to communicate with you from the beyond .. tell them not to go into the light
Maybe a ghost?
Your next door neighbour has the same telly, and is hanging out of his window with the remote control, just to p*ss you off!
Because you are sitting on the remote.
who knows, maybe a ghost? or an electrical problem.
Call your cable company and ask them.
Do you live near a taxi office? I used to get a lot of interference on my tv when I lived in a town centre...there was a taxi office just along the road and the problems were being caused by the radio signals.
it's your neighbour, I also bet they have the same problem if you use your remote.
i dont know but if it was my tv and it was going on and off and channels on its own it. it would be out the window.
Years ago I lived very close to an antenna for relaying police calls, on a busy night it used to drive us nuts.cutting the TV out completely....w... only heard the police calls! Now we find if i use my music centre, a taxi going by taking a call interferes with my machine!! I can't win!
it is possessed!!
Your Sky box is playing up. My two closest colleagues both have Sky+ and the problems that they have always make me chuckle and the responses they get from Sky make me guffaw. One of my colleagues cannot get a signal at the moment and has e-mailed them three times at the behest of the call centre and all three e-mails have returned with the message "this e-mail address is no longer in use please contact our customer services." I'd move provider to Virgin as we have had very few problems other than a few crashes of the box easily fixed by unplugging it for thirty seconds and the broadband is easy to install, re-install and is quite fast. The phone is good too.
We used to live near an airport, and our tv would do that, and you could pick up the exchanges between the airport police!!

Either that, or you have a poltergeist.
If it is a ghost get a new tv. Do you have a control box on the system or are you just using the remote and the buttons on the TV. If you have a satellite/cable box try disconnecting it and see if the channels continue to change. It sounds to me that you a button that is stuck or is sticking that is changing the input that you have for your TV.
well it could be that you have a ghost or that one of your next door neighbours remote controls is turning you TV over, it can happen
Cover the remote eye on the tv
Probably some interference from a mobile phone within the family or from your own. Some mobiles can change TV channels.
maybe the tv is on a bit of a nutty stage
My tv used to change channels and shut itself off/turn itself on but it was really old so i dont know..
it could just be a technical problem with the tv
Sometimes when people smoke in the house, it ruines the buttons in the TV causing them to leak and make contact causing symptoms like yours.
Magic
unplug the box, it will reset itself
