Had DirecTv HD & was getting a good 1080 signal w/component connection. Read about HDMI & my HD rcvr was 3 yrs old & had DVI. Upgraded & DirecTV put a gigantic dish(5LNB) up & gave me a new HD rcvr. They also said my old sanyo hd rcvr that I paid $400 for wouldn't work with this new dish. Had the DirecTv rep told me all of these facts i would have left it all alone because the picture was pretty good before. Now the TV blacks out for a second or two in 720 but doesn't in 480. My last Tv took all formats but this new TV only takes up to 720 (not sure if it's 720P or I). If I get a TV that takes 1080 will that fix my problem? or maybe it's the I or P thing because I also had to move a progressive scan switch to off @ my DVD player when I switched TV's . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Answer:
It is not your tv. Its your new receiver. Directv is still working out the bugs.
