Help!! DVD/VHS Recorder Combo Player which doesn't own a TV tuner?
And the cable box I enjoy now is not compatible..
The DVD encyclopaedia does not list which Cable Set Top Box is compatible, so I'm completely lost...
First of adjectives, I've never heard a DVD/VHS recorder doesn't enjoy a TV tuner!!
I guess I can lease a cable box $5 a month from a cable company (Charter), but I would rather buy one...
But not abundant cable boxes are compatible..
What should I do?

Answers: All cable boxes are compatible nowadays.
To examine dvd/vhs tapes you would simply use a different input on your tv to viewpoint such materials.
On the back of the component there should be a slice of red,white and yellow connections. Use those to hook up to your tv.
If theres no tuner within the unit, and you want to account, then you use the cable box's composite out (white,red,yellow) and pipe it into your Input on the subsidise of the unit.

Manufactures stop putting tuners within combo's about 8 months ago due to the upcoming standards adapt and cost effectiveness.If your dream is to record CATV, you will requirement a demodulator or tuner that offers composite video output. (the ashen RCA jack) The CATV box you referenced should qualify. You can then dispatch that video to your combo. You can then run the video out of the combo to your set. Do not use the S-video output of the combo because it will not dispatch the VCR signal. Lastly you should know (2) things.
1) Composite video is almost the worst type of video signal you can use. Consider a DVD recorder or TIVO as opposed to VHS.
2) TV standards will cash in just about a year. I'd not invest too much money in a standard definition tuner.
