Answers: No you don't. You can now command PPV etc through your DirecTV receiver over the satellite nouns, no phone line required.
But some heir models that they'll set up for you (namely the free ones) aren't capable of this, so you'll still stipulation a cell phone etc to order these services. The subway guide still comes over satellite though.
