Will a US television work in the UK?

I recently bought a flat pannel tv, but just found out that I might be moving to london... will my tv work in the UK? My friend doesn't think so but can't tell me why...

Answer:
Unless it specifically says it is a multi-standard TV, most probably no.
US uses NTSC, UK uses PAL, so the tuner will definitely not work and the rest of the inputs may not work as well.
On top, you will need a power adaptor 220-to-110V. So, sell it and buy a new one there.
Well it may with converters, but not likely. On top of the electrical difference, the UK uses PAL which broadcasts at about 25 fps whereas the US uses NTSC which is 29.97 fps.
you will need to buy an outlet adapter...their plug ins are different than what we have in the states...but this shouldn't be a problem..
