i bought a sony 32" tv recently, it's mainly silver casing, but it has black trim round the edges, so i have the best of both worlds.
whatever you do tho, dont get the black samsung tv's, as they are really shiny black and look pretty tacky.

when buying a tv, dont buy based on what color it is!Color is so not important to the quality of the set! But if youve already picked the brand, and you are looking at color for decorating purposes, it totaly depends on the rest of the rooms decor. If you are going for a more trendy, futurist kind of look, go silver. Where as a rustic, more antique look would require the black set.
The silver surround is supposed to be less of a strain on your eyes than the black, the same with laptops and PC monitors, I'd go for silver
