How can I fix loss of cable signal?

My apartment only has one cable line, which is located in the living room. I've tried multiple times to use a splitter to split it 3 ways: living room tv, bedroom tv, and internet.
My bedroom tv only catches half or so of the channels it should.
My internet (which is in my bedroom) and my living room tv have perfectly fine signals.
I've tried shorter coaxial cables, rf amplifiers, and cable splitters. I'm not toosure what to try next, unless I've improperly set up everything I tried before.

Any idea of what I could do to fix it??
Thanks. :)

Answer:
Well, your bedroom TV is the problem...not your cable.

You should FIRST check the menu and see if the Bedroom TV is set for CABLE reception or Air reception...Air reception will only give you channels 2 - 13 then you might get lucky to find stations above 14...

IF it's set for CABLE, and you don't have ALL your TV stations from 2 to 96, then your tuner is shot and needs replaced..
Splitting it three ways is likely your problem. You'll probably have to pay for an extra outlet in your apartement, and split one of them two ways. You might also check to make sure that the one you have is the only one. My old apartment had three active lines hidden in it I wasn't aware of till I tried to solve my own bandwidth problems.
You may have a bad (or cheap) splitter... you need a high quality splitter which can cover the entire frequency range. Do not use an amplifier as it will not retransmit certain frequencies. The stuff at Rat Shack or Walmart will not work. What kind of cable are you using? You should be using RG6 (quad shielded). Call your cable company... normally they do provide 3-4 connections for free is using cable-ready TVs.
Your TV may be fine. I have an old Toshiba 13" TV in a bedroom hooked up to cable. It can only tune up to cable channel 45. This is a limitation of the tuner in the TV set itself. I had a spare vcr and hooked that up to the tv and by using the vcr can tune all the way up to channel 78.
i agree with reggi right on the money
