My t.v. has a mind of it's own.any advice?

It's a Phillips 52" and it literally has a mind of it's own. Before I take it to the shop I would like to see if anyone has had this problem before. I will be watching a movie or a sitcom and the t.v. will just shut off on it's on or the sound will go completely out but when you turn it back on it's fine. I have never seen anything like it. It's only 2 years old.
Thanks.

i donno but you must contact the provider for information
Maybe your house is haunted... jk .. I heard something about a recall, check into that first - and if it keeps happening just take the receipt along and ask for a new one
Well, I have a similar problem. My TV is a Sony and every day chooses s program to blur. When you switch over to another, it is fine, with brilliant picture.. Then you switch again to the channel you watched.. and.. blur again.. And.. the strange thing is that every day it is a different program.:P

However, I think that your problem might be with the feeder cable (I mean the one, that provides your TV with electricity). the jack or something. So, when the supply of electricity is cut off, the TV shuts off. But if I were you, I'd have it repaired by a specialist
It dosnt surprize me at all. Samsung and Phillips/Magnavox have the highest failure rates above them all.

Could be a broken join when heated up it breaks connection then once cooled it makes contact.

A leaky/defective microprocessor (brains), or leaky defective part.

Just a FYI, if the shop needs to order a board, there are no parts available for Phillips products (plasma). If a plasma they will tell you its not a Phillips its actually a Samsung.
