Purchased a new(ish) second hand TV from a friend, and it's making a "buzzing" sound.?
So last night, myself and my brother-in-law went to collect it as my dad had been given it from a colleague at work, who said they'd decided to upgrade to a flat screen.
I set up the TV and it was all working fine.. now today my mother switched it on, and it's making an annoing "buzzing" sound..
I have been through the TV set up adjusted the brightness, contrast, bass, treble, etc... basically tried every setting the TV has to offer. and still the buzzing remains..
The buzzing will stop for a second or 2, but will always come back..
Should we get an TV engineer in to look at the TV?

Is the sound actually coming from the speakers or from the set itself.
If the buzzing is coming from the set then you probably have a loose Chopper transformer or line out transformer.
Hit it!
If it has a socket for headphones, then try them and see if it still buzzes. If it doesn't then you have a loose speaker wire/connection
If you knew what you were doing you could fix that or a repair shopwill do it quickly and cheaply

Twiddling all the knobs and buttons won't help. It sounds like the tube is on the way out. Ours did the same, eventually we couldn't get a picture except something Picasso might have painted!

Ah, that would be one of those fancy ones ,just brought out by anne summers ,for the larger lady .I think it`s called the rampant telly!
What brand is it?
Isolate the buzz by muting the TV. If buz goes away then its something in the Audio section , or a wire is traveling through the wrong wire holders, if IN the wrong place interference can be introduced.
