What is better, a tv with 1049088 pixels or one that is 1080p?

im set to buy a new tv. the two im looking at are:
SAMSUNG LE37R88BD 37" HD Ready Digital LCD TV
LOGIK 37LW427 37" HD Ready 1080p Digital LCD TV

both are similarly priced but one is 1080p the other isnt. is there much diference?

Answer:
LOGIK 37LW427 37" HD Ready 1080p Digital LCD TV, the 1080p means that is is progressive scan take a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/progressive...
Probably not much of a difference. the 1080p/1080i resolutions really become beneficial with larger screen sizes. A determining factor is how far away you will be sitting from the screen. With a 37", I would say that unless you were sitting 5 feet or closer, you'd be hard pressed to tell 1080 from 720p.

However, that's not to say that 1080p isn't without merit. Should you ever hook up a true 1080 source to that TV, it won't get downscaled, which preserves the original picture quality. And if those two TV's are the same price, I'd pick the one with 1080p unless the other one had other factors that make it better.
