LCD or HDTV?
Answer:
hoo boy.
OK, from the top... HDTV is not a TV type. it is a signal type that a TV can display. TV types include DLP, LCD, Plasma, Projection, CRT, etc.
Most people who ask any question about TV types and LCD's, are usually wanting to know which is better, LCD or Plasma. Since you're talking about 32", I don't think you'll find a plasma that small; but you will find a lot of 32" tube TV's. Either one is capable of displaying HDTV as long as you pick the right model. Not all models will... cheaper models are likely to not be HDTV capable.
An LCD can be an HDTV..its only a term for High Definition TV... You should ask LCD or Plasma. Plasma has a better picture, but LCD is really really good!
HDTV if you have money
You can get a TV which has a LCD screen and support HD signals i.e. HDTV.
LCD means Liquid Crystal Display and is a type of technology. HDTV means the screen can display high-definition images. So you can get LCD HDTVs.
But when looking for an HDTV make sure it supports 1080p which is the full HDTV spec, anything less than that (and manufacturers will sell you something much worse for the same price if they can) and you might not get the full experience.
LCD and HDTV are not comparable.
Question you should ask is do you buy LCD or Plasma. If you are looking for the 32 inches the best choice is LCD. Now comes the question should you buy LCD with HDTV or not. I would say go for buying HDTV as you probably not going to chnage the TV in next 5 years and HDTV is upcoming and should have the transmission.
for a 32" just get a LCD will do. you wont see different in 32". but it noticeable different if you get 37" or higher. then i would suggest you get a HDTV
Ok. The question is LCD or Plasma or if u wanna get technical DLP(new technology)
ok now HD is high definition witch comes to u free such as news channels sports and etc.
i recomendt lcd will last longer and similar graphics dlp is great but to expenseve and 1080p is the highest.
i got a rca and is good.
If you buy an LCD with an internal HD tuner you will have both in one TV.

If you mean LCD vs. Plasma (both HDTV compatible) and some difference in price then...LCD. Go to any store and you'll see that LCD tvs are a little higher in price but notice this one but huge difference..Glare. Plasma has this glass-type cover that LCD doesnt. When both screens are off or black screened the difference is amazing!! Just look at Cotsco, etc.(where the the same thing is playing) and you'll know what I am talking about.
Hope this helps.
Depends on your set up. I got a flat screen HDTV which has a tube making it big and bulky. I have a much better refresh rate than a LCD or a plasma because of the tube. I also have a large entertainment center to put it in. When you are looking to buy look at the refresh rate, the resolution, the contrast ratio, and the brightness. With the second two the higher the better with the refresh rate the lower the better. The brightness depends on how bright the room is that you are using it in. The brighter the room the higher you want the brightness.
Plasma
1st check out getting a PROJECTOR i have found out thats a FANTASTIC way to have a big screen flat tv without the cost!
