Is there a television set that can be password protected?

We want to buy a TV (preferable with a small screen) that we can lock out the kids. There are several ways of keeping the children from viewing adult tv but when they are supposed to be doing their homework they instead like to watch tv (not adult tv just regular tv). I want to find a tv set that can be password protected or something similiar to make it impossible for them to watch any tv until we their parents say they can. Anyone heard of such a thing?

Answer:
On some tvs you can ''lock out'' the keypad so you cant turn it on using keys or remote. Takes special combonation of remote and KP buttons to unlock.
I have a MAXENT brand lcd tv that I got from either costco or BJ's Wholesale Club and it can be passcode protected. I think all cable systems have those passcode protections to lock the kids out but this tv actually has a passcode also. I don't have any kids to lock out but I checked just now and I found it under 'setup'. Maybe your tv has one also.

If you don't have this, why not put the tv in the 'public' areas of the house only and put the kids in their bedrooms to do their homework. good luck
I'm not sure you can buy any TV new today that doesn't have password protected "parental controls." Same with cable boxes. Note: these are for blocking channels, not for turning on the TV.
