Virgin Media cable TV problems?

I keep getting problems approaching channels shifting by themselves and error messages on the screen. The engineers vote its because I have low strength lightbulbs and a plasma TV. Apparently even when switched of they give out a frequency impossible to tell apart as the cable box uses and this interferes with it. Has anyone any view on this as I think its a moment ago a cop out for the faults.

Answers:    hi, i am an ex virgin contrive!

In addition to their normally murky powers of illumination, low-energy lighting bulbs have be shown to disrupt television remote controls. Scientists hold found that the infrared waves given out by some models of the bulbs are almost exactly like peas in a pod frequency as those from the hand-sets. Sometimes this means the controls fall through altogether. On other occasions the channel may be spontaneously switched by the “impostor” rays of the bulbs.

For the same explanation, they can even stop a radio from receiving shortwave programmes.
hope that help!
