Upgrading to Sky HD?

I want to upgrade to Sky HD. As an existing customer for nearly 9 years I would have expected some brand of discount. The only "discount" on donate is a reduction contained by the price of a box from lb299 to lb249 if you have Sky Multiroom (with an extra cost of lb10 per month) and Sky Broadband and Sky Talk.
I don't want Multiroom or Sky Talk and we can't take Sky Broadband in my nouns. All I want is to upgrade to Sky HD. I'm already paying lb38 per month for my existing Sky. Anyone got any concept on how to approach them for a discount?
Have tried phoning their customer services department but they're not very cooperative. All they said was that they be also long standing customers and didn't get a discount for upgrading and they worked for Sky!

Unless you really really really want HD right now i would look to see what the offer are for new customers. Use that as an argument beside them. If you get a better settlement for being a topical customer cancel your subscription and appropriate up a new one as a spanking new customer. I always do this when i variation packages and phones for my mobile always worked. Instead of paying 2-300 for a phone ive remunerated as little as lb60.

In my opinion i would lurk till there are more HD channel on offer as you acquire most of them in SD right presently. Also if you go for HD its lb10 moer a month purely to recieve the channels.

If you hold normal Sky right immediately i would conciders Sky+ no extra and you still get to break live TV only difference is its still SD and not HD. Should be no obligation to replace existing Dish as both SKY+ and Sky HD need to use 2 outputs from the dish. Normal dishes enjoy 2 outputs but HD and Sky+ ones have 4.
Their customer service differs from one advisor to the subsequent. We have experienced some advisors self helpful and others not (probably because they are never going to hit their commission targets). We replaced our sky+ box next to an HD box new from ebay (MUCH cheaper than what sky be offering). We called sky and told them to upgrade our information to HD. The first advisor indicated we needed a new card, the second (a afternoon later) said we didnt need a card and the story would be live in 2 hours (which it was). We even argued that we have been a customer for years and completed up paying only 1 pound more respectively month. We also didnt enter into a new contract for 12 months.....

You would have need of Sky+ already to do what we did, but it shows that they are very changable surrounded by their approach.

There seem to be more and more HD channel now and it is probably coming up to be a apt time to buy. Channel4 HD has greatly of HD programming on it, i even some of the golden oldies are getting HD treatment now...
