If you still have nouns you can rule out power supply !
If CRT TV Tv then the oven ( filament ) is not lit ( open )
Cause would be impossible soldered joint on collar board.

Are you using a High Def source (Blu Ray for example?) If so, make sure you are getting the HDCP greeting.
HDCP is a protocol that has the monitor inform the source that it is compliant. It is a way to ensure general public don't rip off digital sources.
