I am looking to purchase a hdtv probably in the sizes between 37-47 inches probably 1080p. I hold heard that to spy the difference in 1080p than 720p the blind size needs to be bigger than 42inches. So for example if i bought a 37 inch tv in attendance would be no point to buy a 1080p for that size correct? Now i want the tv to watch hd dvds play my 360 etc. I know you must hold an xbox 360 elite beside the hdmi input to have it surrounded by 1080p but i hear that the xbox 360 has to upscale 720p to 1080p since the local resolution for most games on the xbox 360 is 720p so how does this work in expressions of picture quality. Basically what is upscaling and is here a big difference in upscaling than the home-grown resolution. Or is it a waste of money and should i purely buy a 720p tv and save in the order of a thousand dollars and go next to a 37inch. Since more sources right now support 1080i should i basically stay with 720p presently and get a 1080p latter when the prices come down. and more sources support it thanks.
Answers: Well, to start bad, you do not need an Elite to receive 1080p from the 360. Really it depends on the TV. Some TVs allow for 1080p from Component, VGA, and HDMI, and some others only allow it from VGA or HDMI. Most of the elder 360 games were made for a max resolution of 720p. Fortunately, the majority of the games made since nearly 8 months ago have the power to show in 1080p.
Upscaling will cart a 480i to 720p picture and make it look more close to 1080p. It won't look exactly like 1080p but it will carry it very close.
Lots of relations will tell you to seize 1080p because "it's better", but like you said surrounded by the beginning, it's adjectives relative. If you are going to sit between 2 or 3 feet from a 37" TV afterwards you might see some difference between the two resolutions. Any further back though and your eyes simply can't tell.In other words, the bigger the TV, the better it is for you to bring back a higher resolution. Aside from the soaring definition movies and games, not much else is broadcasting in 1080p. So, surrounded by my opinion, if you don't obligation 1080p, don't get it.
