How to use an VGA and RCA cables on a LCD TV?

I have a VGA cable (plug into Laptop) and on the other end component plugs (into LCD tv). I'm not getting any image or sound. Would like to watch movies from my laptop on my LCD tv. Thanks.

Answer:
well, technically "component plugs" are strictly video. that's the red, green, and blue cables. you might be thinking of "composite plugs." those are the red, yellow, and white cables.

i'm sure it's just a setting problem. go on your laptop and make sure you have all your video settings in the right place. then check to make sure your tv is on the right channel for the input you've selected.

that's about all i can tell ya man. good luck.
