Audio out on TV; set up speakers thru DVD player, out of order for cable!?
Answers: I may not be aware of the configuration of the TV in your section of the world or what type of TV you have. But contained by general TVs hold audio-out ports so that you can connect external speakers to your TV. These are usually circular female type jacks colored white (for right audio channel) and red (for departed audio channel).
You can use these ports to connect the TVs audio-out to the speakers or you can connect the TV's audio-out to the audio-in of the DVD player (if your DVD player supports one).
You would require RCA cables for nouns.
In digital TVs you have what are call as SPDIF ports, if your TV and DVD support SPDIF, connect SPDO port of the TV to the SPDI port of the DVD player.
If you are using DVD to route audio to external speakers then you might hold to turn on the player while watching cable.
All these are based on the assumtion that the problem is solely in the TV speaker and not something elementary that would prevent audio coming out from audio-out as well.
Also are sure that TV's mute button is not on or volume is not too low ? I guess you might hold already tried checking for that, believe me such things do happen.
