Do I really requirement an HDTV Tuner as defiant buying and HD-Ready TV?

Would it be best to buy and HDTV with a tuner already contained by it as opposed to buying one an HD-Ready tv? I am getting a PS3 and I know that it will work fine, but if I needed to get vote, ESPNHD, I would probably be using Directv or something, so I wouldn't need a tuner, right? What would the tuner be used for later?

Answers:    If you're going with satellite TV, you'll call for an external tuner or DVR box to watch tv anyway, so integrated TV tuner shouldn't trade name that much of a difference to you.

If you're going with cable TV, some sets propose a CableCard slot, making these sets digital cable ready; while this technology allows you to use a TV minus a box for Digital Cable, you don't get the cable company's on-screen guide system and interactive video services (such as OnDemand). Also, these cards don't other work unless your TV set has a specific copy of firmware installed.

While an ATSC/ClearQAM tuner is a good article for a TV, you'll still need to grasp a set-top box for satellite or want to get a set-top box for cable, preferably next to DVR service.

Note that for an external HDTV tuner, unless you're installing it more than 12 feet from where on earth the TV will be, component video cable will provide a better picture than HDMI will; though HD broadcasts are 720p and 1080i and look no different on component video and HDMI connections, most TV channels are still standard definition 480i broadcasts, which hold massive picture degradation on HDMI, and most TV sets won't upconvert any signals sent over HDMI.

On the other foot, 1080p video sources such as the PS3 and XBox 360 will always look better over HDMI connections, since most TV sets don't support 1080p through component video. And for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, you usually stipulation HDMI with HDCP to spectacle 1080p content.
Most people don't have need of the tuner, and you don't either.....

Unfortunately, they are NOW including the HD Tuner on NEW TV sets....

Look MORE for HDMI connections, those are the ones you want a bunch of.....and some Component connections too...

Mitsubishi other seems to serve up a large amount of HD inputs, and well suspended too...not too much of that and not too little of those....And they are the BEST DLP manufacturer contained by the world...Can't burn a DLP....or an LCD Panel TV

You can burn plasmas...CRTs....and yes, even LCD Projectors ! I've seen it....
