Virgin+ Box HDMI connection to Samsung LE32R41BDX?

Hi, I've just bought the above HDTV and am trying to hook it up with an HDMI cable to my Virgin + Box so i can watch the HDTV channel. However when i try and switch the Virgin box settings to HDMI the screen goes green and flickers with static then switches back to the Scart input.

Any ideas why?

Answer:
try leaving the setting on the v+ box, just plug hdmi into the tv, select that av channel. you will get a picture, as not all channals are in HD. Make sure that you have select the 720 .
