Help me with my hd tv?

My son has just brought a HD TV and he still has his DVD player and Video plugged in to it,
He is going to buy a HD DVD, but that is so he can watch his DVD's in HD quality.
99% of HDTVs (all the ones in the high street) also have scart sockets on the back, so your existing equipment will work fine.
You may want to buy a DVD player that upscales to HD so you will get a better picture however, but it will work fine without one.
I have a HD TV and use my old DVD and sound system. All DVDs and VHS can connect and be viewed on HD TVs. Whilst HD TVs do have hdmi sockets for HD viewing, they also have other sockets, including scart sockets
most HD tvs come with 2 or more SCART's but if you use them it will mean that you will be watching a DVD /VHS in standard quality not HD.
If you want to watch HD DVD you will need a HD DVD player or maybe a HDD recorder that has HDMI sockets (output). as far as i am aware HD TVs only have one HDMI socket i could be wrong!!?
scart is still a good way of connecting AV stuffto any tv, so yes your existing equiptment should work.
If your still not sure or reassured by any other answers, get the wife to ask the sales man :-)
