Sony KP-57HW40 backside projection TV split sceen issues?
My problem is the split screen function of this tv. It's not a picture within picture, per se, but 2 seperate programs that you can watch on this tv simultaneously. It's one of the reason we got this tv 5 years ago. When watching 1 program, you press a button on the remote, and see 2 different channel. You can change the sizes, switch the involved audio, etc. So it's great for timing when a show comes off commercial.
Anyway, my tv is screwy lately. The TV splits into a L and R sided picture. Whichever show is on the R is other full of static. Weird thing is, it sort of pulses. Clear for a second, after gets more and more static until it finally resets. I've tried watching HD and non programs, there's no difference. The L side picture is still clear though. Can anyone suggest anything or back out?
Answers: If your TV is being feed over the non-RF ports, then it sounds close to the TV is incorrectly connecting the "bad" side to the RF input, where it finds nought connected and so you get static. You could try feed in RF to the coax connector and see if a picture shows up.
