My pc cannot stay shut down?

when i select shut down..it shuts down and restarts by itself..i have to switch off the mains.am worried this may affect my pc sooner or later.HELP

Run a virus scanner maybe a virus is causing your computer to re boot.
Sounds like motherboard problem, take out 3v battery from MB when off and check to see if its correct voltage.
