Is there one certain television set which is good for use outside? Not the new waterproof sets..?
Answer:
If the set was not specifically designed to use outdoors, I would not take a chance on it. There are several issues to consider. First is moisture, or high humidity. Neither of which is good for the set. Second, personal safety, water is an excellent conductor I would not try to run a TV in that sort of environment. If your set has a high leakage current, and you get grounded and touch any metal on the TV, you will be in for a nice jolt, or funeral. Most TV sets have one side of the AC line tied directly to the metal parts of the chassis. LCD sets have no real issues with bright light. I would be more concerned with the safety issues myself. Overall, it's just not a good idea. If the set is not designed for outdoor use, do not use it outdoors.
