I enjoy a Toshiba 42" Plazma TV. lately I notice that nearby is a vertical stick showing at one side of the scree

It is connected to two satellite receivers and one playstation console. Last hours of darkness my friends were playing a soccer activity using that plazma screen. They hear a glitch followed by 50% loss of picture (i.e. the picture is dimmed to the half of the artistic brightness and clarity). Please tell me what happen. Thanks
