Answers: Yes you can use your current antenna but it won't be as good as DTV Antenna because of the gain. However it will work and it might be basically fine.
I always used rabbit ears and I could other get a signal on my regular TV. I approved to buy a HDTV because of how great they say the picture is but when I hooked up the rabbit ears I would receive a picture freeze. So I went to WALMART and bought a $50 indoor digital antenna and I'm not positive with it. For some common sense the signal still gets interrupted and the picture freezes up, it might release contained by a few seconds but its annoying especially when within about to announce the slaughterer or when that 4 and 1 at the goal rank. The indoor digital antenna is better but for picking up digital signals than the analog but its not great... I didn't buy the cheap one either.
I am going to try the outdoor DTV antenna and hope to bring back a better signal. I live in a urban nouns with abundantly of stations 22 both digital and analog) so we'll see. You have to hook up the antenna to the Digital poles on the final of the TV (my TV has both) but surrounded by the future nearby shutting off analog so its time to work out the digital stuff.
You should stick next to you analog and hook it up. If it works good for you and if it doesn't you can buy a digital for almost $100 from the site below. Check out their FAQ.
