Vhs video stuck inside of tv/vhs, in a minute neither one works!?

I don't see any screws to unscrew it apart, I tried plunging a butter cut into the tape to pry it out to no avail.

Answers:    Pulling the cassette out will not fix it....

The VCR's loading mechanism desires to be in a fully retracted state where on earth the loading posts are retracted into the video cassette and the timing gears are presently in STOP mode.....

If it's surrounded by any other mode other than stop the VCR will attempt to start up, read the timing gear, attempt to reset it to stop mode, and when it can't.....IT SHUTS DOWN.

When the VCR portion shuts down, it stops deliver it's voltages to the TV portion of the unit.
So the TV can't turn on any......

A skilled technician can manually reset the timing, and remove the tape for you. He can also capture the TV and the VCR to function too...
