Has anyone with a mitsubishi model WD-65731 (or smaller) gotten a message about "check air flow"?
Answer:
Mitsubishi is currently replacing lots of sensors that are causing this problem. The TV has a projection lamp that requires air ventilation to keep the unit from overheating, The TV has some vent holes and a fan that pulls air thru a duct keeping the lamp from overheating the TV. There is a small sensor about 1" long attached to the housing in front of the lamp which if the fan is working and the vent is not obstructed is causing the message to appear. You should call Mitsubishi at the number listed in your operations manual and advise them of your problem. If the TV is still under warranty they will take care of the repair. If it is out of warranty, talk to them about the problem and see if they will help you, if you have an extended warranty contact them and describe the problem. Keep in mind they will probably question as to whether you really have an air flow problem so make sure you don't.
It sounds like your TV is overheating. Is it properly ventilated?
If it's inside a cabinet, you'll need to add some ventilation holds and maybe even a fan.
If it's standing out by itself surrounded only by air, then something is wrong inside the TV causing it to run too hot and you'll need to have it serviced.
