High-Definition 1080i/1080p query?
Recently I purchased a Sony Playstation 3 (blu-ray player) and also bought the movie 300. I plugged it surrounded by and started watching.
The details on the back of the blu-ray movie disc say that the main movie plays at 1080p ...but my HDTV can with the sole purpose go up to 1080i. So if the movie is coded surrounded by 1080p and my HDTV can only play as dignified as 1080i ...what is my TV displaying? Is it displaying a downgraded 720p or 1080i? I can't tell because my TV doesn't transmit which mode it's playing in.
Answers: Becareful! my playstation 3 be playing at 480p when I first pluged it in......surrounded by the video options it let's you choose what displays you want it to support......you can select both 720p and 1080i........it's displaying the best probably by evasion however with different tv's it's easier said than done to say so I would basically check to display in 1080i simply that way it upscales everything......the great entry about ps3 is you can choose which display resolutions to support! some tv's also when you hit info display the resolution as ably.
it will most likely be playing contained by 1080i, or 720p they both have similar aspect
