Repair air for Sony tube Model KV-32S25.?
Answers: Its the picture tube, its too fragile to provide the Sony quality picture. It will blink resembling that when the tube is weak and newly about shot. Turning the eyeshade on the crt socket and or fly can sometimes get it to stop, but it will evenually start blinking again.
IT's YOUR PICTURE TUBE....
Now you can try a few things to make a contribution it LIFE, but my experience is the CRT is just WORN OUT.....
Turn up the eyeshade control....the blinking will stop
EVEN if you turn it up to the point that you see the RETRACE LINES...the blinking will stop.
And if it STOPS then you KNOW I'm right more or less this.....
Now, how do you STOP the blinking if you set the screen to the point where on earth you DON'T have blinking and you DON'T hold retrace lines?
That's where it get hard !
All you can do is this.....
Set your Screen using one of the Video inputs near no picture signal (all black)...set it to where it newly gets retrace lines surrounded by it, then subsidise it off to where on earth they disappear...
Try your picture, if it BLINKS then take a NEW TV....that's the BETTER choice.
But for customers that JUST NEED a little more time to get hold of the money together, you can INCREASE the heater voltage by adjectives the heater foils on the CRT board, and wrapping 2 to 4 wraps of chain around the core of the HV Transformer and attaching it to the heater pins on the CRT board....
It doesn't other work, but it's worth trying....1 out of 3 crts might get another 2 to 4 months of go out of it.
I quit using that modification once I saw the survival rate....
