Even when they are, you'll one and only see them with an HD signal. The biggest difference between sets isn't surrounded by their HD performance, it's within their SD performance. You're going to be watching SD for a long time while the industry slowly upgrades to HD. Even their differences surrounded by HD performance won't be adjectives to the consumer. Yes, go look at the sets; but get sure you find professional reviews for the ones you're interested in. Get a copy (from the library if you own to) of the December Consumer Reports. They review a large number of sets. They also dispense guidance on how to choose the type of set to buy.
HD, as in Hard Drive, Or High Def.
LCD is far better than any other, except, DLP.
If it be HD, as in High Def, go and get LCD HD.
I suggest LCD, just because I find HD tv's are unnatural, lol. If you get an HD tv and resembling to play video games, it is too different (like the game isn't contained by sync with the tv)
