Please help problems with lcd tv?
Answer:
Could be one of many things to be honest - First off - see if your aerial cable is sited or sitting on an electrical cable - the current passing through the power cord can cause interference. Next - see if the aerial socket at the outlet and input plugs haven't got some loose or frayed cables that are touching the main copper core. This can have an effect whether or not it is connected directly to the TV or via a video/dvd player.
I doubt that it is your scart leads - possible but I doubt it.
If the lines are white and crisp and clean - it may be the LCD matrix within the TV - if this has broken - it is bad news and an expensive repair.
If the lines are broken (like interference) then there is another source that is causing the problem - some electric motors can cause this problem - are there electric cables contained within the walls near to the TV
There could be loads of reasons to be honest
Is it near a heat source? If so, move it. If it's cold, it can have white lines until it warms up a bit.
There's a troubleshooting section in the back of the manual that might help.
Good luck.
hiya foxy I also have a lcd tv which developed a white line about 8 inches from the bottom of screen it looked like a pin stripe its only 2 months old so under guarantee its in the workshop at the mo getting new screen fitted i don't think these new screens can be repaired it must be more cost effective just to replace screen. You never said if it was still under guarantee, sorry never gave you an answer to your problem but just to let you know your not alone. I hope there is an easy and cheap solution out there for you. Good luck.
